A place for Takako to smile again!

Takako Okutsu
Like most people in the fishing villages of the Oshika Peninsula, Takako Okutsu lost everything when the tsunami hit. Thanks to the donation you made at the Compassion Japan event in April, Takako is able to participate in JEN activities at the Temporary Shelter where she says she has finally started to laugh out loud for the first time after the disaster.

Takako loves that JEN provides various events and services such as tea parties, legal consultation, and bench building to enhance the outdoor space that all of the residents share.  She knows that she may need up to two years of shelter, and is very appreciative that she has a place to stay.  “Smile and laugh, these are so important in our lives!”  Thank you again for giving Takako and others like her the gift of laughter!
